How to Install BpyTOP Resource Monitor

It is a Python-based resource monitor for your terminal.

Resource monitor that shows usage and stats for processor, memory, disks, network and processes. Python port of bashtop.

To install on Centos

To Ensure the system is updated.

yum update

To install python package manager pip

yum install python3-pip

To check the version of python running

python3 --version

Output:

[root@vps ~]# python3 --version
Python 3.6.8

To Install BpyTOP

Note: It will give you an error if any required headers are missing– install it and try again it will install with no issues.

pip3 install bpytop

Output:

[root@vps ~]# pip3 install bpytop
WARNING: Running pip install with root privileges is generally not a good idea. 
Try `pip3 install --user` instead.

To install on Ubuntu.

To Ensure the system is updated.

apt update

If any update is available update the system and reboot.

apt upgrade -y && reboot

To install python package manager pip

apt install python3-pip

To check the version of python running

python3 --version

Output:

root@vps:~# python3 --version
Python 3.8.5

To Install BpyTOP

pip3 install bpytop
